Nothing will power!!!!

I lied, the only thing that powers is the processor fan. I just got all my parts in for this computer. I bought 2 power supplies thinking the first one was to weak (400 watt) the new one is 680 watts. Everythings plugged in and the only thing that powers is the fan. Monitor wont turn on, hardrive disk wont spin and theres no beeps outta the speaker. I'm insanely frustrated cuz i spent a lot on this stuff. Before i thought it was the motherboard so i bought a new one (same). and that didnt work so i thought it was the PSU and nope wasnt that either...so im left with no other options :(

Biostar P4M800 Pro-M7 motherboard
socket 775 dual core procoessor 3.0
1 gig ddr2 ram
680 watt psu

can anyone tell me what they think the problem is please

Does the green light come on for the motherboard? Maybe a stupied question since the CPU fan turns on but iv seen crazier things!

You have the 4 pin CPU power connector in and are you sure you have the case leads PW/SW, HD/LCD and so on to the motherboard in right?

Good Tip StrangleHold

Read your motherboard manual to locate the jumpers that you need to connect the case leads to.
The case leads should be marked, if they aren’t trace them back to the front of the case to determine which is the correct one.

When connecting the case leads the darker wires are usually positive and the white wires are generally negative!

Also make sure the mother board is grounded propperly, that can cause problems.

yeah the 4 pin is in...hardrive wont spin at all...thats waht gets me. Either PSU's wont spin the HD and no signal out of the monitor. All the lights light up on the front of the tower. Ima noobie when it comes to hardware

you have put the 4pin molex on the mobo have you put the 20/24 pin molex onto the mobo? did you mount the mobo on the standoffs properly? make sure the cpu is in the right way, you havent droped any of the screws in the case that could be touching the mobo.

nope..all thats in....something new happend right now...I unplugged the ide cable from the motherboard and it suddenly started spinning..plugged it back in, didnt spin.

I know you said you checked the power supply, but if anything is powering up then there should be power to the disk drives...
