Noticed this?

Hmm...what is Dell up to now? I might do this, then again, it will shut my clients up until it reaches that 'error-prime' that Dell PCs have, lol.

Comments?

It's not any of Dell's business weither you sell it or not. Another one of the many reasons that PC companies are ghey.

At least they arent charging you more to resell it, lol.

The only thing I can see happening is people selecting "keep it for myself", and then not be able to transfer the warranty over if they do.

Is $778, a good price for this? Optiplex

Actually it is, because of software licensing. Plus if you are lets say, an authorized Microsoft reseller you are allowed to buy/sell OEM software for all of your systems you build.

Most of this is because of the cost differences in software liceneses, and on top of that if you purchase a dell and sell it later on, you must keep all the software that came with the computer because the licenses are bound to that machine. It's a small technicallity but for the most part no body really cares if you resell it or not.

What does it take to become an authorized seller?

I'm already a Microsoft Office Specialist in Word, Excel, and Powerpoint,, I did that my senior year

well I don't think any of that is required, they want certs in: preinstallment of OEM products, Network deployment and related techs, and sharepoints.

I am not sure of all the benefits because I don't work retail or in sales nor am I a system builder. However, there are obviously benefits to joining otherwise they wouldn't have the program.

My God...Those requirements are crazy, you have to be employed with or by/contracted an exclusive Microsoft Specialist. Or you can have some type of packaged software, or piece of hardware that meets Windows logo testing.

I just wanted a reduced price for OS's, lol.

or have an employee with the proper certs to qualify. It's not that easy but then again it shouldn't be either. If it was that easy to get, every idiot would be a Certified Microsoft Partner.

Yeah, that's true, some wouldn't know what to do with the products and tools. Having the Office Specialist certifications which were obtained at a local college made me look more professional.
