Hey,

Been a while since I last posted.. i've been crazy busy, stupid school.. can't wait for the summer again!! woot! anywayss I've been looking around for a nice cheep laptop.. doesn't have to be overpowerful, I don't want it for gamming at all, I just want a laptop that I can install linux on and use for programming.. so since thats not very intensive at all.. i was thinking like $300 CAD or around there.. anyone know a good place to look for used laptops or any suggestions on linux laptops or anything to that effect?

DanLatimer!

I'd look on eBay, that way you'll get it cheap and not so bad specs... Alot of people are worried about scams etc... on eBay, but all you have to do is look for the right people... :)

What distro are you planning on installing? I'd recommend you try out Ubuntu... Very good!

ubuntu hmm? i never heard of it.. I was just gunna install redhat prolly.. it's always done everything I needed well. do you program? if so i will ask you the ultimate geek question: what do you like more.. VI or EMACS? lmao

I just looked into it.. nice UI! it looks very sharp, I love linux so much more than windows for programming but i love how user friendly windows is.. unbuntu looks alot more user friendly (although of course it can't run .exes its still nicer on the eyes than redhat haha)
