my comp is running with a gigabyte 945p s3 mother board and one giga of ram in one of the four slots it has for memory sticks, i would like to get the corsair xms2 4 gb (2x2gb) 6400 800mhz ,but the problem is that when i ran a check with a site that gives the specs on my motherboard it says that each slot can hold max 1gb per slot,so what do the experts say? can i put a 2x2gb or do i need 4 sticks of 1gb each?

Here is the QVL (qualified vendor list) for RAM that is compatible with your motherboard. If you choose ane of these you can't go wrong. The max your motherboard can support is 667MHz RAM. If you buy the 800MHz RAM it will underclock it down to 667MHz.

This RAM is on your QVL list...it's good RAM for a good price, maybe a couple sticks of this.
