Now what?

Hey guys, i have downloaded the two CDs of mandrake, they are RAR files and now i dunno what to do, shall i exrtact them and burn them?

RAR files??!!! I once got some Linux distributions and they were iso images, never heard of the rar ones before.

Anyway, why don't you try extracting them and see what happens, I think they will extract the files which should be on the CD as you said, so just try

RAR files are just like ZIP files and are used by WinRAR so if you have WinRAR you can extract them.

Narafa maybe read this and it will give you a better understanding of RAR files (although just explains what I said in greater detail )

You got me wrong my dear friend, of course I know rar files, what I meant is that I never saw Linux distributions in the rar format, that why I said what I said about the rar extensions.

I have used the arj format which was a compression format earlier than the zip one and it was a DOS based one
