NTFS Permissions

Setting up a server with some interesting permission requirements. I've been at this and troubleshooting other issues for some time so my mind is not fresh and I could be missing something obvious, but I feel like I am spinning my wheels on this issue.

Basically here's what I need:

-Its a joint folder for everyone to use, all users should be able to create folders and files in this folder.
-All employees should not be able to change or delete folders that are not their own.

I'm having a hard time figuring out how to do this. I can't figure out how to give people permissions to create, without giving permissions for them edit other people's files.

I've been playing with the CREATOR OWNER built in group, but I can't seem to make basic permissions stick.

would you not have to set up sub folders and assign permissions to those as there are 2 conflicting rules.

have the share with read & write then a subfolder "sally" assign sally modify to that folder and everyone read only.

tell sally if she want people to edit documents save them in share if she doesnt want them edited put them in sally where people can read only.


this might no be correct im only a student
