nvidia 6600

ive got a 256mb graphics card in my pc, but it runs need for speed most wanted really slow, i dont understand why its doing this. The computer is free from spyware and cr*p like that. does anyone no why, or would it be better to buy a new card.
the spec of my pc are:
AMD 3500+
1.5gb ram
200gb hard drive
and of cause 256mb nvidia 6600

memory on graphics card isn't the only thing that determines performance. THere's core speed, mem speed, pixel pipelines and a whole alot of other stuff. Read Video Card 101
 
try running the game at 1024x768, thats the best setting to run it on if you have a 15" or 17" CRT.
 
You might want to upgrade to a 6600GT. I can run BF2 at high, and it plays great. Those two letters can make a lot of difference!
 
ive change the screen resolution in the game options and it has made a big improvment to the gameplay, also i have a 512mb ram stick arriving soon, so it should be spot on by then.

i dont know if the ram will make a big difference.....you already have 1.5gigs and i dobut that 512 more will make a huge difference, but maybe a little bit.:)

yeah, buying a better graphics card will make a bigger difference than getting more ram.
 
the 6800GT would be an excellent choice, or maybe the x1600XT if you want to keep the price under $200.
