I know nothing about video cards, so I need some advice, I know the x800 is alot older card but don't know if it's still better than the GS that came with my Dell, I found the X800 for like $35, should I swap the X800 for the GS?
I've got a dual core E4400 2.0ghz, 2mb cache, and 2gb ram 667mhz.

For right now I would, the 8300GS is supposed to be DX10 but it sucks so bad that it couldn't even pull a DX10 game and low settings in DX9. Go ahead and buy an 8800GTS 320

The x800 will not last long but does outperform the 8300gs, it is an upgrade, but you will also need to upgrade in the near future for any serious gaming. Either save up and go with a middle level dx10 card or be satisfied with sub-par graphics. Either way you will be able to play games, just not will ALL the eye candy.

Take the X800 it will play games better but not for long you will probably have to upgrade by the end of this year.

The x800 is a much better performing card. The 8300 is only good for an HTPC where games wont be played.
