The inquirer has been screaming this stuff about 9xxx and 89xx series for too long. There doesn't seem to be an 89xx series... Price? I might buy this..
 
So... if we bought the 8800GT in January, and wanted a 9 series in Febuary, we could just step up? SHWEET!
 
oh nevermind i just looked it up. I just bought an 8800GT like 30 minutes ago. Do you think the 9800 series will come out in time for me to be eligible?

most likely you won't be eligible...for example, lets say that your step up thing expires on feb.13th.....the 9800 series will come out on the 14th.

How do I know this? Because that's how everything works....lol.

Seriously though, you might make it...its going to be close.
 
So buying an 8800GT when the 45nms come out in January, I could upgrade the 8800GT to a 9 series for the difference?
 
Is it a reasonable guess to say that after the 9 series come out in Feb, the 8800 cards price is going to drop dramatically?

I wouldn't say they would drop dramatically, they've been dropping fairly steady since their debut last November.
 
nice. a new line of cards to push down the 8800's prices.

nice to see its coming out, but i think i'll stick with 8800 for another year or two, especially since the only game that an 8800gts can't run on max is crysis.
 
does anybody know the price range the new series will be, because im going to get a new graphics card, but im in no rush, my budget is like 250, i can go up but i wanna keep under 300$, right know im leaning towards these two cards but im not sure, i want something thats the best for the new games that are coming out, heres the links, but does anyone have any suggestion?
