nvidia 9800GT problem!

Hi guys, i have a small problem :)

I took a 9800GT from my friend yesterday, and it worked perfectly well while it was in his pc.
When i connected it to my pc it just started the fan on 100% and kept it that way, and no picture was shown on monitor. Funny thing is that pc booted win7 with integrated vga, compeltely ignoring 9800GT.
I tryed bios settings, i even disabled integrated at the end so it maybe runs trough 9800GT but still nothing happened.
Then i had to clear cmos to i get my defaults back along with my picture on integrated card.

The only thing i can mention to help solving this problem is:

We both have the same PSU's and are 100% working normally ( almost new power supplies )
Next thing is that he has some "older" MSI mobo with ddr2 memory slots etc, while i have gigabyte's ddr3 mobo.
I dunno his mobo model exactly but mine is Gigabyte H61M-DS2

here is the link

and the 9800GT's link is this one

If anyone could come up with some useful info id appreciate it.

I doubt it has some "slight" incompatibility between mobo and vga, since i eliminated other possibilities (other components) since my pc is working perfectly with all other video cards (starting from ASUS 9800GT which i had one short time during this summer, GTS450, GTX560 etc).

Thanks in advance, Davor

you plugged the videocard right in the motherboard and connected the cable from your monitor to your videocard?
in one of those dvi-i's?

because your monitor can't use the integrated graphics if you use the gpu...

I know it shouldn't be able to use integrated vga if i have connected 9800GT but still it does.
That's the problem.

Btw, can vga get damaged if you connect it without 6pin cable? I did it once accidentally cus i was overtired last night and i just got that sound signal from pc and i shut it down and reconnected with 6pin.
