Nvidia GeForce 8700 GT Question..

Alright.. I just bought a Toshiba X205-S7483 Notebook the other day.
It has a Nvidia GeForce 8700 GT Graphic card. So I try and play Gears but it won't work. It says I need the driver update from Nvidia but it won't work with the 8700. So I look around on some forums and it says to downgrade to 8600 GT, so I did and I can play games fine.
But I was wondering is it possible to upgrade to 8800 and everything still work, because it says I can.
I just don't want to mess anything up..
