So what's the word on the street about this graphics card? How good is it? I'm looking for a graphics card that can handle current games at full graphics (with possibly the exception of Crysis) and looking for it to play future games at pretty high graphics. Will this graphics card do the trick?

Thanks!

Not many laptop graphics play games well... I think this probably performs on par with a desktop 8600GT maybe 8600GTS. It would probably play games right now okay, but will very soon be subpar.

well you cant really expect a laptop to play all games on high with very high framerates... you could probably play WoW at 40-50 fps. maybe CoD4 on medium or something. i dont think you should go with a laptop if your looking to do some hardcore gaming wanting everything maxed out

ya, but the thing is I'm going to college and I need a laptop cause I'm deff not lugging my desktop around to classes... lol I had the NVidia GeForce 7900 GT OC in my desktop but it just crashed the other day... is the 9700m gts as good as that?

I'm in the same boat as you, I'm looking for a nice mid-ranged gaming laptop. Toshiba has some nice notebooks that have dual 8600M GT's in SLI that use GDDR3, there aren't many 9700M GT cards in laptops though.

As for performance, it performs better then two GeForce Go 7950GTX's in SLI, and almost as good as a single 8800GTX. It performs much better then a desktop 8600, as it gets 7930 in 3DMark06.
