Nvidia jumps to GDDR5

wow

so this mean everything is gonna be brutal expensive huh? from the looks of things and will cards be bigger or smaller is that what this is saying and will they consume more power im kinda worried here somebody help me out plz?

sounds to me everythings gonna get more expensive, not that it isnt already am i right guys, i mean if you think about it the more advanced we get with not only computers but cars and home entertainment as well and just in general easier more effecient way to do things is becoming more expensive each and everyday but at the same time its also becoming more and more demanding, we are a civilization that thrives on technology...lol hope that answers your question and then some bro...basically its gonna get more expensive and games and all the stuff we enjoy will be at a higher demand for these as ill call them "superb" or "super" video cards and quad core cpus...etc

dang lol

does this mean it will take along time for me to actually build a machine for cheap that will perform well and run good cuz im not one of those people who got alot of money to get some of the stuff when it first comes out if you know what i mean i usually wait til it gets in my budget range

not neccesarally, also you gotta take into account your funding situation, what your looking to do with the build weather its gaming, just surfing, work related, etc, for me i built something that could do about all of the above because in fact i do do all of the above lol, really depends on your fancy/taste i think, i mean hell i wanted to run dual 8800s but my financial situation wouldnt allow me to do just that.

what i think, is when nvidia's next cards come out, they will reserve the ddr5 for the super-high-end cards, and the only difference from the mid-ranges to the high-ends will be their memory clocks. it makes sense to me... other then that their mid-ranges will simply have been made on a better process, (45nm or something) and will use ddr3.

either that or they will make their cores compatible with ddr4. but i doubt it.

hahaha, i doubt it!

we'll be cruising along with memory faster then our processors, forced to run crysis on 800/600 on medium...

x.x
yeah, CPU's need to take a jump in speed soon, how long have we been sitting at 3GHz stock?

Way to go nVidia....

only its going to be $$$$ when they release the first card with GDDR5

I doubt they will hit $1000. By the time these cards come out the 9 series will be in the 200-300 range which will open up market space for $600 cards like when the 8800 gtx ultra and more recently 9800 gx2 came out. $600-700 for this series it what we will see.
