I'm looking for quad screen support, as I am a day trader, and I came accross the NVS420 is close to $900 (in New Zealand). I was just wondering whats so special about it? cause its alot cheaper to use two mid ranged gaming graphic cards cause from all i can see all the card does is display quad screens? doesn't say much else on Nvidia's website

http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_quadro_nvs_420_us.html

I'm not gona buy the Quadro but just wondering what theu good for?

1x Quadro NVS 420 about $900

2x Nvidia GeForce GTX 275 about $700 (and i don't even need 2 GTX275 for quad screen 2 9600gt should do the job)

Oh and for stability, surely if i'm just looking at charts and stuff 2 gaming graphic cards should be more than stable enough.

Quadros i hear are good for 3D rendering,Cad type of work and are workstation cards :)

The thing you're paying for with workstation video cards is not performance. And everyone should know they are not meant for gaming at all. All of the money for the card is for support. Having a driver issue with your Quadro? Call Nvidia and you can get a custom driver by the next day. This is what people pay for when they get a card like that. They don't care about gaming or multi-monitor support because they aren't made for it. They are made for rendering, 3D graphics work, design... so on and so forth.

Ok, I know that workstation cards are not for performance or gaming and I know there stable. I know the Quadro FX series are there 3D rendering workstation cards, but from what I can find on the website about the Quadro NVS series cards is that there for "business" people and they show lots of charts on the monitors, which is what i'm going to use them for. What I want to know is are the NVS series also for rendering cad stuff also? or are they made purely for quad display etc? cause if thats the case I'm sure i'll have no problem running quad display with 2 gaming graphic cards and being stable.

heres a link to the NVS cards

Notice the power consumption as well. 40 watts is the max power draw from one of those cards. That's impressive while running multiple displays. However, I doubt that those cards are going to be any sort of rendering powerhouse.

ok thanks, I think i know everything i need to, power consumptions not an issue, all i need the cards for are fore extra desktop space so i can fit more charts.
