Nvidia question

Nvidia says their GeForce 7 series have intellisample 4.0 and Ultrashadow II. Does that mean that all Geforce 7 cards, even those made by other companies like MSI have them too?


Also, are heatsinks bad? I have a 250W power supply and have a card that has a heatsink no fan. Does my card risk overheating?

Also, if a card requires two slots, and my computer only has 1 PCI-E slot but 3 other PCI slots, will it fit my computer?
 
1) Yes, the other companies are just slapping on a heatsink, extra memory or other not-so-important parts onto a nvidia manufactured card. So every 7 series card will have the ultrashadow II and stuff.

2) Heatsinks aren't bad, just about every single card has a heatsink, and most of them have fans. If your card is low end then you probably don't need a fan.

3) The card needs two slots because it has a 2 slotted cooler, it has nothing to do with the actual PCI-E or PCI expansion slot.
 
yeah so it just means that the card takes up 2 slots. doesnt actually need to plug into the second one...

are 2 slot coolers a lot better?
most HD3850's are 2 slot right?
my friend is getting one with a single slot cooler. will that affect it much?
 
The other companies which you speak of, use the Nvidia GPUs to make the actual card. So Nvidia makes the graphics cores, or GPU (Graphical Processing Unit), which has them feature you speak of, and they ship it off to other companies that make the circuit board, and add memory, and the heatsinks and can also overclock the core to make a bit more money. The features are all present on all 7 series as Nvidia said.
 
Well I'm just not sure if there is enough space to put in a card that takes up two slot spaces. So it doesn't require two PCIE slots, but it still uses up the space over the slot right? Do you think there is enough room to put it in?
