Nvidia Shield

Already got a thread in the off topic section, was started actually just minutes after tye live stream IIRC

it was a short lived thread, people posted once or twice but interest died quickly since most discussion was over the suspected prices we all thought up.

It does look pretty good if I'm honest, but I think the problem it's too expensive, so people won't buy it. I agree with Denther above, it'll probably a be a flop.

To be brutally honest, ever since the whole 'Nintendo DS craze' died down a few years, I know very few people these days who would buy a handheld console.

Didn't really care when saw it is such a small device. Never liked consoles gaming. Portable is good, but that's what mobiles are for.
BTW why is it named shield?

I guess because of the looks, the screen looks/acts like a shield? Apart from that, idk.

Personally, I fail to see the point. It serves two purposes:

1. Allows you to use your computer as a console, sitting back and using a control on your PC from the comfort of your couch. This falls down right when you realise, you can just use your computer with any wireless controller straight from a more comfortable seat, or even get a long HDMI cable and plug it into your TV

2. It runs android and plays android games. Everyone now has a smart phone and can do this anyway at no additional cost. Whether they be on iOS, Android or Windows Phone, they can do everything the Shield can do and more.

I just fail to see the market here at all
