I have just purchased o2 b/band and cannot get anywhere near the 20 meg they say is available. I have cabled straight thro. via the ethernet cable and they say it is running slow cos. of my extension cable to the upstairs? I am within 500 mtres of the exchage and they say the cable running up my stairs is responsible, probably 10 mts, at most? , impossible. Anyway they conviced me to go wireless, so I bought a USB wireless adapter and still no good, this was by moving my router downstairs to the incoming phone socket, still no joy. I have just left SKY where I was paying for 8MB and was getting 6 no bother with the same set-up. The signal strength on the wirless manager said signal was poor at between 25-30% I moved the router upstairs to the same room , remained wireless, signal strength 100% but dowload tests all said about 1.5Mb. Yet, the puter loads up pages fast and if it were not for the tests I would say it was fine, is there a genuine test I could use that is more accurate.?thx

Well, that link I used to test anyway yesterday and I used again after your reply and it is now showing 17,164 d/load, 1,118 upload which is excellent, the strange thing is when I view my history on this site it shows various speeds yesterday the best of which is 3Meg, bear in mind I only came on-line with o2 on Thurs. and after complaining to them yesterday I test today and find I am on 17M, never mind pleased and ty.
