Oblivion: Weird Message on Screen

I was playing Oblivion last night and a really odd (weird) message popped up on the top left corner of the screen. It said exactly this:

"New Topic: Is your computer running slow?"

It really scared me for a minute, I have no clue where this message came from. I've searched all over the web but cant find anything that mentions this (eg: Easter Egg or joke in the program). My system is secure, and I wasn't playing online (don't know if Oblivion can be played online). I also haven't modded this game.

I exited the program and checked for other users immediately upon seeing that (Task Manager>users). I only saw me, and no I'm not crazy.For info, I had used the cheat command "tcl" to get on top of the buildings and run around in the Imperial City.

I've never seen anything like this before in the months I've been playing it.

Anyone have ANY ideas where this came from?!
 
It looks like a type of popup, spam or an advertisement. Did you run Malwarebytes? I've found that the program Super Anti-Spy-ware (Free ware) is good at picking up the smaller things (like tracking cookies or something). It doesn't seem like it's harmful. Was it a Windows Message or could you tell if it was apart of the game?

No, the message didn't show up like a windows message. It was in the same font and color as the game uses. And it was only on screen for a few seconds. It looked the same as when an achievement or quest objective is updated.

I ran all the scans necessary and found nothing.

It was really odd to me because I've never seen a message like that from this game (or any game I have). Has nobody ever seen anything like this before?

I might uninstall the game and reinstall the game. Maybe over time a file was corrupted, or something like that? But I can't imagine how that would generate a problem like this. I dont know, if anyone has any ideas I'm open to 'em.
 
That's really weird you should post it up in the official oblivion forums on the Bethesda site and see what they say

I don't mod any of my games, anymore. I modded GTA-VC a long time ago and it became unplayable.

I don't do acid (ha ha funny though).

I'll take the advice to post it on the Bethesda forum. I'm not a member yet, but as soon as I am I will post it.

Anyone else?
 
oh, I mistook cheat for mod, my bad.

have you downloaded any expansions from sites like RapidShare, etc...?

I dont use any programs like that. I stay a long way from and file sharing sites. No bittorrent, limewire, etc... for me.

I like my machine free of diseases.

Its a good question though, i've known loads of people who use that stuff. Well, they used it 'till they had to fix their computer with a hammer cause its would get so corrupted with viruses and spyware.
