If I used water cooling for my 8800gts (i know it runs pretty hot already) could I safely OC it? What exactly do you OC, the core clock speed and memory clock speed? How much could I OC it with a lower end water cooling system and would it be worth it?

Thanks

overclocking? well has it been lagging? as in below 30FPS in games and the like, because if it hasnt, pal, just dont fix what ain't broken. i overclock my x800 because, well it needs it hahaha, the same can be said for many other cards, but usually not for that card.

other then that it would be safe, often if it becomes unstable, your computer will shut down and it will revert to its older settings, no harm done, unlike overclocking other aspects of your computer

the 8800 series waterblock are like very expensive right now you're looking at $100-200 just for the waterblock.

gottcha, thanks, just was wondering. actually to tell you the truth, I haven't even got to test out my sig setup because it's coming this Monday. I ordered it all from NEWEGG!!!! on Friday.

that card doesn't need ANY overclocking for current games; there are no games that have been made that it can't run at full settings smoothly...If it's lagging or being buggy on larger resolutions, blame the 320mb of video ram, that's the only thing holding you back, which can't be softmodded. (overclocked, etc.) If you're on a larger screen, either return it and upgrade to a 640mb or lower the resolution.

And from what i've heard, water cooling would not be worth it for sig like yours...(someone posted a ratio of how much the watercooling should cost in comparison to the whole system to show in which cases it would be worth it or not.)
