OK

Now there is a massive price difference once you step over the 4200 ( i'd like a 4600 or 4800 but the 4800 is like double the price). I also notice that the 4200 and the 4400 are the same speed but again big price jump.

So firstly - could I get any real gain out of OC'ing the 4200 - would I need added cooling and if so what do you recommend?

Secondly why the price jump to the 4400?

Heya

The X2 4400+ has a 2MB cache while the 4200+ has a 1MB cache. I think it would be worth overclocking in the future but not as we speak. As to the cooling should you choose to OC, it would not, in my view, be required for a decent OC. However, for a major OC, it would be.

JAN :D

as jan said in teh future it might be worth it to overclock but i wouldnt now
Depending on the task, an overclock can be usefull immediatly

Besides i think that Jan is saying that stock cooling will be ok for oc'ing up to a point. And hes right:)

As for the 4400 vs 4200, the 4400 jump is not worth the price
