OC-ing processor and vid card

For starters, I have never OC-ed anything before

First of all i dont know how to find out exactly what kinda of processor i have or if you need more info.. All i know is i have:
Dimension 4500 series intel Pentium 4 processor at 2.0GHZ

How can i find out any other info on processor that i would need for OC-ing it if i need anything else?( i cant find any papers on it and i searched all over dell's site and found nothing but i dont really know what im looking for). Will OC-ing this 4.0 GHZ make much a difference? How much?

If so whats a good porg for it or how do i do it in bios and also whats a good porg to keep an eye on temp so i dont fry it?

Also i want to OC my Geforce 4 64mb ti 4200 videocard, Right now im using omega drivers for it and theres an option to go to manual overclocking. I dont know if this is the normal clocking but without any changes the bar sets at Core clock frequency 250mhz and memory clock frequency 513 mhz. Does that sound correct for stock on this card? And what would be reasonable for an OC and how can i check my temp of vid card so i dont fry it because there is no "temp thingy" in the GF4's..

Right now everything is on stock ( no extra fans) but after i buy some i think ill begin trying to OC this. Also at night it gets cold, around 40-50 around here sometimes, if i open the window and keep this room cool would that porbally be enough to keep it from burning up when i run it in OC( i would of corse have to change back to regular if i ran anything hard during the day when its not as cool )

THanks for any help that may come :D

i found some info on my video card on how high to clock it, But still havent been able to find that kind of info on processor or figured out how to calculate the temp of vid card or processor.

Unfortunately the Pentium4 line isnt so bland and simple as that (there were two or three different variants ont he 2.0GHz chip). Grab CPUz (http://www.cpuid.com/download/cpu-z-125.zip) and note the CodeName and Package for your chip. Also getting info on the mainboard and memory would be useful too (or just goto Aboud and do a HTML report and including it here)

You will never be able to get that to run 4.0GHz so its not a big issue (if you could however it would be a major increase)

You wont be able to do anything in BIOS. Your BIOS is a custom made Dell BIOS which locks out any kinds of controls (to preserve warranty etc). Anything you do will need to be done via something like ClockGen (http://www.cpuid.com/clockgen.php)

The 64MB model has 250/500 speeds (the 128MB model features 250/444). Depending on what make of the card you have it might have stock OC

And what would be reasonable for an OC
Cant tell ya... gotta mess around :)

Buy a temperature probe

I downloaded the

CG-CY28346 version because it matches my system version, but i dont know what im doing so i wont make any changes.. I think thats the correct version?

Well when u starts CloCkGen it gives you a bunch of options for various clocks you have control over r... tweak as you would if your BIOS was more friendly (a bit here, a bit there, test test test)

:)
