OC question

you said it was 66 degrees and you haven't overclocked yet. that means that if you do overclock, its gonna hit 75-80C with no problem whatsoever. it doesnt matter how fast it came back down, it matters that it went that high. with your current cooling i wouldnt risk overclocking at all.

Oh yes ofcourse, i know. I was just saying that to me the fact that it comes down rapidly means that the cooling set up i have, ie. the placement of fans and the amount of thermal paste is spot on. However because it is right ofcourse without getting a new CPU heatsink+fan i won't be able to OC

oh kk yeah your assumptions are all right on. :good:

hehe thankyou.

I will eventually get a new cpu heatsink or even a new CPU altogether when it gets to that point, but until i have the money i'm just going to have to stick with what i have because i am skint having just set money aside for a new graphics card

Or you can live on the edge! I accept 70-72c while OCing and stress testing with IBT. Your cpu will never get that hot under normal conditions, only a linpack test. I may even go a little further for benching... but I wouldn't be upset if I melted my chip.

even without raising the voltage, another 200mhz on his processor will set him at 70-75c... i dont suggest it tbh

eum what would u guys say about me, my mugen 2+ q9550 at vcore 1.38125, temps in prime large ffts max 77-77-69-69... Should i lap my cpu to get temps even, because im not keen on those themps....

should the mugen 2 not be pumping out temps of around 70 degrees per core ( evrything in °C)...

boonet
