OCing 7800GT w/ nv5 rev 3

Since I dont have all that much faith in the memory cooling capacity (in particular, the back side) of the NVSR3, id concentrate more on the core clocks to start with

The 7800GT does not have backside memory, but the GTX does.

The way I see it, why not get as much out of an expensive piece of hardware as you can. Im hopefully gonna try the volt mod from flashing the bios tonight or tomorrow. If its easy and works with no problems i'll explain how if you dont already know and if you're interested.

To Tokinbudz: I see in your sig that you have your 7800 at 470 core, try 473. I know this sounds like it will be nothing, but by putting it to 473 it will bring up other clocks (can't remember which ones). If you bring it to 472 it won't do it, it has to be 473.

Ahhhh nice, didn't know the clock frequencies worked that way. Good find, thanks.

NP, I will be doing the same with mine when I get it (hopefully tomorrow). Anybody else reading this should do this also, and read the info in the link I gave two posts above.

how do you get it to 473? i can get it to 472 and 475... is there a way to manual type in the clock speed?
