Hi all I have a GIGABYTE GA-K8NF-9 and am trying to OC a fx-55. I understand how to do it through bios but i cant figure out the terms they use in this bios. They dont use FSB or mutliplier. It does have cpu frequency but i dont want to screw up my proc by messing with that stuff unless i know for sure what it does.

I uderstand how to overclock and can do it easily with easytune 5's advanced settings where it lists all the regular names of things like FSB and multiplier but the gigabytes bios dosent list it like that so bassicalliy i am just looking for what the settings in gigabytes M.I.T. are called in "normal" jargon.

P.S. Please dont think I am being a jerk I really do appericate all your help

On Gigabyte boards if you press CTRL and F1 at the same time after the bios loads it will unlock some settings

After unlocking the advanced settings (see above post) look for what you need on the M.I.T. page.

isnt the way on overclocking a FX simply put up the Vcore a bit and then go up on the multiplier?

I have been told that just rasing the multi can get me what i want for a small overclock. Thanks to everyone for telling me how to unlock the advanced settrings in MIT.

you bought an fx for a small overclock? :x

LOL I know but im still fairly new at this stuff and I know itll sound stupid but I bought a fx cause i knew that they were decent procs. I dont want to do too much OCing untill i get to korea and pick up a swiftech water cooling setup.
