OCing numbers

I see people allegedly running memory clocks of over 1000mhz on their x850's but my x850xt pe will not get over 600mhz mem clock. Is there something wrong with mine or are the other people full of it?

DDR memory can send information both ways during one clock cycle, so DDR memory working at 100MHz has an effective clock of 200MHz. So people who get a memory OC over 1000MHz (effective) are running the memory at or over 500MHz. So your memory would be running at 1200MHz (effective).

If that didnt make much sense, try to think about what DDR stands for - Double Data Rate... that pretty much clears it all up, its kind of our way of marketing gimmicks, lol... 550Mhz DDR doesnt sound quite as good as 1.1Ghz Memory Clock now does it??

sorry, i thought you were quoting your actual memory speed against your effective mem speed, looking back at it now its a bit obvious that you were actually quoting core speed and mem speed.

My mistake sorry, i was getting 1.17 from 585 x 2, lol, sorry about that mixup
