ok guys i'm overclocking my amd64 2800+ with a FIC K8-800T motherboard with Samsung ram. Anyways, I was doing ok until i turned on the agp/pci lock. Then the computer wont boot anymore. So i popped the battery out and it works. My question is, why does the computer not boot when the agp/pci lock is on? I know i read something somewhere about pci devices not functioning correctly if its frequency went to high but how high is too high? Thanks in advance

ok..following up on my not so good oc. I got the fsb to 212 and it won't go higher anymore..literally. I can set it so 213 but when the computer boots up it goes to 200.44mhz...what's going on? Any ideas?

once again following that up problem solved 200mhz overclock right now cpu temp pretty low (around 35 idle) any suggestions?

The LOCK option does just that, it sets the PCI/AGP clocks, so they can't be changed.
Thus setting them at their default values. Which is determined by the MEMORY-SPEED.

hmmm, you said that you upgraded to a new motherboard, have you tried installing the old motherboard back and seeing how well that oc's? with mine i cant get past 223 because of the sata drives. What socket do you have? i read a review the for the DFI LanParty for socket 754 that is very good at overclocking.

As for your problem, i really have no idea why it does that

well my old motherboard fried...so it really won't do much =) i have socket 754 and I just the problem i had was really wierd. Cuz at 213mhz fsb it didn't work but with 214 it did..hmmm

update: going for 2.2ghz (final goal) so far at 2.05 with an up of .025v on vcore and none on vdim yet, holding up very well cpu temp very low.
