OK so i'm planning on overclocking my cpu!

Is this a good enough motherboard
-AsusP4SD-VL

Also I got cpuZ and I was wondering how would I unlock the multiplier (do I have to go into bios ?)

Cooling: What kind of cooling will I need, I will probably need a cpu cooler or would a regular case fan do the job.

Note: don't know if this matters but my computer is a sony...

I havent "really" Read the ocing sticky, I Havent had time/lazy lol , will read it soon, hope u guys can answer my questions!

You cant, multipliers are only unlocked on Athlon 64 FXs.

Stock cooling should be fine for some mild overclocking as long as your temps are ok.

Yes, it does matter, because prebuilt computers generely dont have overclocking options in their BIOSs. But your computer has an ASUS mobo, so take a look inside the BIOS.

everyone pushed me away from the ECS boards, i bought one anyways. turned out to be a great overclocking board, got to 2.6ghz fairly easily and with better cooling ill bet ill hit 2.75ghz
asus is a good brand of board though...
i just go with whatever board has the features i like at a good price.

oh right, its prebuilt... 99% sure you cant o/c it without help from other software or somethin...
maybe asus has a good prog.

that might work (select your product + such and it will recommend a download)

or that might too

i dont suggest you use a program to o/c while in windows... but those are the only things that might work if you really want to.

Most likely you cant OC your CPU, since its most likely not an option in the BIOS, and OC'in via Windows may not work either.

I c well doesn't really matter anyways since I actualy convinced my parents to by me a new computer soon..I will be posting up the specs as soon as i'm done !
