OCZ Memory

It's disgusting how they've doubled the price of DDR2 this year.

I bought 2Gigs of OCZ DDR2 800 for $24 in January.

The price is going up on most items everywhere. America is printing so much money it is causing inflation here and likely the rest of the world. But memory has gone up a lot in price compared to other computer components.

Going up because its the end of the life cycle of DDR2. Same thing happen to DDR after DDR2 was out for awhile. Some of it is just a rebound of the price of DDR2 hitting rock bottom for the last few months. Now they would rather sell DDR3.

The price appears to have gone up on all memory though. Double Data Rate 3 memory is also expensive. The cheapest Dual Channel Kit I can on NewEgg for 2 gigabytes DDR3 memory is $45.

Crucial 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Dual Channel Kit - $45

actually its not because its the end of its life, even though it is coming near, its because of some manufacturing contract and now it costs more to make it.
