odd experience

I have replaced the psu for my friend's computer (the brand is ACER) because the old one was dead. After re-connecting the cables and starting the computer...the computer just hang up in the boot up screen (i.e. the ACER logo screen).

I cannot reset the computer when press the reset button...and it just beeps 3 times (short)...and it is a Phenoix bios board.

Then i reconnect the cables again and this time everything is ok....so why would that happen?? and why the computer beeps 3 times??
 
you would have to check the mother board manual for the meaning of those beeps, they are usualy beep codes, defined by the mother board. Its possible a wire was loose or something.
 
i have tested the power supply by doing the following:

connect all cables and start the computer...ok
then i just move the 20pin and 4pin cables a bit...and it hangs in the boot screen...
then i replug the cables again and everyting is ok..

so i think it is about the power supply slot loosen

at least i know what is the problem cause...thanks alot
