if the title didn't already say enough, here it is again:

Radeon HD 2600 PRO AGP 512MB DDR2 GPU

It installs fine, the software seems to atleast. however one thing i havnt tried which it recommended is that i havn't yet deleted the old software for my 5200 nvidia card, before installing the new one. however, i have never had the same problem with an awnser that simple, so i wil try that at some point, and write back here when i have.

when installed it underperforms my current aforementioned 5200 nvidia GPU. it cost quite alot, and it is newer by a long way than my old one, so it should be alot better. it is also double the memory.

i had the idea that i might need a new power supply, my current one being about 350w. i found some 550w online for £20, and was wondering if its wise to buy.

thanks for any help or advice you can offer me.

Yes it would be a good idea to uninstall the nvidia drivers. As far as the performance, its got some to do with the rest of your system. If you have a Socket A Duron with 256mbs of system memory your not going to see much difference. Whats the Spec. on the rest of your computer?

its quite good. well, it was about 2 years ago i guess.

1.25gb of ram
500gb hardrive

so... is that good enough to take the card?
ty for the help btw
