That will depend on which model 3800+ you are running. There are actually two different models one being single cored while the other is a dual cored model that is designed for multitasking along with AMD's usual outperformance of faster speed Intel cpus. With a dual core processor accompanying the right mix of hardwares you can run a good sized program even some larger games and not notice any apps and services that are running in the background or simply have muliple smaller programs running at the same time. This is the concept with the multicored design.
