OEM a good idea?

would it be smart of me to buy parts for my new computer non-retail(OEM) although it is cheaper I feel that I might regret not getting the "official" package.

It's fine. Plain white or brown box is fine. I don't care for Retail packaging since it goes into the trash anyways. I can also do without all the advertisements either. Some OEMs still come with the demos and extras. Some may not be eligible for rebates though, but you're saving a lot of money anyways. Although the specs arent printed on the box, if you know exactly what you want, it's an excellent buy.
