OEM or Retail Hard Drive: Is it worth the price difference?

Hey guys, as I continue looking for the parts to my new and first build, I have a new question...
Is it worth it to get a Retail version HDD over an OEM? Is retail really worth the price difference? Thanks,
Chris

If you are building your own system OEM drives are the way to go. There's no point to buying a retail boxed hard drive because everything you need comes with the motherboard.

oem, ive bought a retail case, it was broken,. bought from the same place same item OEM, got it without defects

I don't think that really has anything to do with it...

But yeah, OEM is definitely the way to go for drives... no reason to spend extra for cables you already have and a manual that you won't read.

Go OEM... It's pretty rare you need the stuff that comes with a retail... Perhaps if you have some non-standard computer with short cables, or IDE cables with single ends(and you want a master/slave setup)

chances are you don't need to cable that comes wiht it because the motherboard will have 2, and if you already know how to install a drive you wont need the instruction manual.
