I am getting this motherboard and I am wanting to know how many harddrives I can possibly have without using my PCI slots? The mother board is a DFI "LANPARTY UT nF3 250Gb.....! Any help would be appreciated :)

any more suggestions

I know it has 2 sata spots and I already have a dvd-rom and cd-rw on the ide cable so I know I can use 2 more hd's on ide cables.....however....I didn't know if it was possible to use a "splitter" and turn that last 2 into 4 possibly?

Each SATA connection will support one device and each PATA (IDE) connection will support 2 (as far as I know you cannot split these any further). So in your case you could have 2 SATA and 2 PATA hard drives along side your 2 optical drives

Yes, unless the mobo is funky nad has like 3 slots or something

You could always get a scsi card....

What does that card do?

SCSI card enables you to have an SCSI hdd

I have one in 3 ov my computers, just cause I used up the ide slots with optical drive cause I upgraded and didnt take the old one out....
