I installed some new software(for desktop decoration) for my new pc last night, after the installation, i restart the pc, then a YELLOW LINE start to appear on the middle-right of the monitor, even in the the BIOS page the YELLOW LINE is already here, then i tried to re-install the display driver, and i tried to use the SYSTEM RESTORE funtion of windows, but both of them doesn't help..............is that a virus? or the new software crash some old software (becoz actually i have quite many software (like window blind)for decoration) how can i fix it???:( :( :( :(

I quite sure is not the problem of the monitor, coz i tried the monitor in other computer, and it works perfect.....

Are you using the same mehtod of connection to the other computer you tried the monitor on? (eg. VGA or DVI) Also is it an LCD or CRT display? i work in electrical sales and we have had broblems with brand new LCD's with yellow and or blue lines down the screen.. we just sent them back as DOA.

What program was it that you installed?
Also, what other customization tool do you use? It'll help to name all of them.

thx you guys, i've got 2 costumization tool, 1 is window blind, 2 is Vista-NuoveXT, will they crash each other?
beocz my pc is almost brand new ( just bought for 3 days),there are not many software that will probably crash except this.

oh~ the YELLOW LINE problem started after i installed the VISTA-Nuove XT, but than i remove the software and i use system restore, the YELLOW LINE still appear on the screen. and i just try another monitor(same model, my sister's) the YELLOW LINE still there, so i just wondered, have u guys heard some virus will probably make this happen? Coz i just confuse, becoz i think if the PC is infected, the problem should be occur after enter window, but now, the problem starts when it RECIEVE SIGNAL ( when the moment i turn on the monitor, it appears the brand of the monitor, and that screen have no "YELLOW LINE" problem.....

plz help THX A LOT!!!!:o :o

Try a different video card.
I think this is on the right track. When you installed the display drivers again did you install over the top of the existing display drivers or did you uninstall then re-install?

You could try un-installing the display drivers, restarting, letting windows use the default display drivers and see if it still happens.

(Making sure you have the lastest display drivers may help too)

Do you have a seperate video card or integrated graphics?

Thats a physical problem with the monitor (or random physical anomaly with the graphics card whis less likely). You'll have to replace/service the display device

If the problem is manifested in BIOS (where drivers and software arent loaded) then its a physical problem.
- Try a different monitor in the same videocard ... if the problem is there, then we know the videocard is (at least partially) to blame. Collect warranty or replace it
- Try the monitor on a different videocard/computer ... if the problem is still there then the problem is the montor. Collect warranty or replace it

sounds like your using SLI?
Good observation ... but the splitscreen rendering is only donein 3D mode -- something BIOS isnt running tmk
