OMG! The old Pentium 4 Northwood heatsink w/fan 100% aluminium works better than the Pentium 4 Prescott (Hyper-Threading) w/fan 90% aluminium and 10% copper in the center. Below are the temps. The tested processor is Intel Pentium 4 Northwood 2.66 GHz 1.49v.
NOTE: These are the readings with thermal paste used.
Pentium 4 Prescott stock heatsink:
Lowest temp: 44C
Avg temp on idle: 45C
Max temp SuperPI 2M: 59.5C (reached easily)
Pentium 4 Northwood stock heatsink:
Lowest temp: 42.5C
Avg temp on idle: 43C
Max temp SuperPI 2M: 53.5C (very hard to reach)
