OK Here we go

I have a Asus Crosshair V Formula-Z motherboard that I just got from Microcenter with a AMD FX9590 CPU, 8 gigs of ram Corasir Vengeance Pro Series DDR3 2x4gb 2133MHZ, A Nvidia Geforce GT720 graphics card.

Put it together and NOTHING!!! (1) quick flash on the display of FF and then nothing.
I took out everything, Vidieo, Ram. still nothing.
And then being the sharpest knife in the drawer I went to check and re install the CPU and it slipped out of my hand and fell and BENT THE DAMN PINS ( Did I say earlier I was the Sharpest Knife in the drawer)
So here I am.
Anyone have any thoughts. :mad:

How many pins bent? I've bent back pins on many processors without them breaking off. Can you post a picture of it?
 
Here we go

I can not update anything, the board flashs FF and done! no CPU fan no case fan nothing at all it acts like it`s dead. as far as the CPU I am trying to work that out.

try okedokey's method depending on how badly bent they are. After all they are very small and very fragile, it only takes one to break away and thats it. But its worth a try. I'd just gently tease them with a toothpick a bit at a time untill straight.

as regards to the FF you can try, stick 1 RAM stick in one slot, power up wait...if nothing switch to next slot and so on.

  1. Download the latest BIOS to your desktop.
  2. Extract and rename the BIOS image file to C5F7.CAP (you will need WinRAR or similar to extract the zip file).
  3. Copy C5F7.CAP to the root directory of a freshly formatted USB flash drive
  4. With the nonworking computer off, insert the USB storage device to the ROG Connect Port.
  5. Press the ROG Connect button and release when a flashing light appears, which indicates that the BIOS Flashback function is enabled and beginning.
  6. Wait until the light goes out.
  7. Turn off computer. Remove USB.
  8. Start computer. Enter BIOS. Set optimised default settings, save and restart.

If you just got the board, its probably already has the bio for the 9590. Its bios 1403 which came out in 2013/05/10. Did you put the standoffs under the board in the right places? Got the CPU power connector plugged in?

I have built 15 to 20 computers before and never had a problem before.
Not to say that could not have done something wrong but I do not think that I installed the board wrong. I used the standoffs that came with the board and put them where the instructions said.
