Bought (2) packs of (2) 512MB Dual Channel Corsair 400Mhz 2.5Cas memory
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-145-440&depa=1
Bought a MSI mobo which can take (4) 512MB Dual Channel Ram modules.

But my memory is at 167Mhz (or 333Mhz DDR).

WHY! :(

In my Bios, The section where I can tamper with my FSB and memory timings, In that window states that my Memory is at 200Mhz, but in another window (do not know which) It says 167 (in blured grey).
CPU-Z says its at 167Mhz too, "I'm a sad panda" -south park

Because whenever you max out the slotcount, the speed drops a notch. Motherboard manual will make note of that

Whoa!. wow, that sucks.
I am going to loose performance not gain it :P for getting 2gigs instead of 1.

Thanks.

Memory will always be faster than the HDD so unless you plan on doing benchmakrs all day....

True. I am just a little upset about this. I mean, it is not THAT big a deal.

Well in that case, having four sticks will mean you're running Command Rate 2T (instead of 1T which is faster :P)

So, tell me this.

(2) X 1GB 400Mhz Vr.s (4) X 512MB 400Mhz

What gain would I expect from buying a 2GB kit instead of two 1GB kits.
