(My apologies! I originaly posted in the laptop forums, can a mod please delete that! Thank you)

Alright. So i put together a system for ~$1000 which will be used for gaming and video/image editing. Well this is what I have put together. I would like this to last me for at least a couple years! :)

Wish list:
http://secure.newegg.com/NewVersion/wishlist/PublicWishDetail.asp?WishListNumber=5971505

And for some reason my case will not save with the wish list so here it is:

Motherboard:

So tell me what you think. Comments/suggestions appreciated!!!!

Thanks!

i have a friend with that case, he says it was love at first sight. soo good choice!

Ok, for ur Audio. Ur onboard should be good for now, it has 8-channels...which usually means good. but dont buy a soundcard like the X-fi xtreme audio...it sucks and its not worth it. nless u want to spend alot of $$$, u wont notice a diff with ur onboard audio.

I'll keep that video card in mind. And about the E8400, i was hoping to keep this computer for a while and though it would be more "future proof" than the core 2 duo. I know i can't be completely future safe, but which would last me longer?

ok this is a hard one.
the E8400 will get higher MHz after OCing.
but in the futer things could star using all 4 cores on the quad so it is a toss up im not sure.
also i was just searching an for the same price as your 8800GTS 320MB you could get a 8800GT (G92)

MHz/GHz is NOT everything.

Yes, Quad support will eventually come along.

No. You cannot get a GTS G92 for the same price as the GTS G80.
