Okidata B4350 Printing funny characters

I have an Okidata B4350 printer that is printing funny characters from Windows. It prints fine from a cash register that is also hooked up to it. I've deleted the printer and reinstalled it. Rebooted the PC, and it still prints out funny symbols and has a black line across the top of the first page. Not sure what is going on here. It does say the drum needs to be replaced. Would that have anything to do with it since it prints fine from another device. Could the cable (parallel not USB ) or the port on the printer be bad? Just throwing stuff out there. Any help would be great. Thanks in Advance.

Actuall had the new drum installed and of course it didn't fix the issue. Also I deleted the printer again and installed the driver from the cd that came with the printer and it still don't work. Kinda lost here.

Fixed the issue. Called Okidata and they told me to install a driver for an Hp Laserjet 5P. I tried it skeptically and it actually worked. Was able to print from both the register and Windows. Go figure.
