Today, I took apart my 11 yr old comp and pulled out it's pathetically small RAM stick. I'm just wondering if it may be possible to use it in my newer HP Media Center since I've got an extra slot.
Just for the record: The old comp is a Gateway 2000 that ran Windows 95 (It doesn't now- I pulled out the hdd, too)
The newer comp is an HP Media Center 2004 m495c
And a little thing to add: I'm hoping to build my own comp sooner or later, so it would be nice to know if this'll work universally.
And if this is possible, how will I go about prepping my comp for the new RAM? I only need it to work with my Linux install- I'm probably going to have to reinstall Windows anyway (again)
