i have an old asus P4B, its has problems, for starters i have wired it up, it had no CMOS battery in so i put one in, then i started it, the fan in the PSU started up, but the one for the CPU didnt and nor did the heatsink get hot, so im guessing the CPU isnt getting power, and also none of the integrated audio/video has any recent fittings so even my really old monitor doesn't fit :mad::mad: but the PCI bus and all the things i put in are getting power execpt the GFX card i put there doesn't output to my monitor, any ideas??
i dont plan on spending any money on it, its only for running a word processor and a few other things nothing like games. cheers

Many motherboards won't function if they don't detect a fan in plugged in to the CPU fan header. You may run into trouble there.

well, the socket for the CPU fan doesn't work, it has a pentium 4 in it, bit crap but it works, also now its behaving strange, with one psu it turns off soon as you touch the button but then comes straight back on, and with the other it doesn't even turn off? im also still getting no graphics output, it has the original media card in it in the media accelerated port but the monitor detects the input but doesn't do anything, also the DRAM error ramdomly fixed itself, wierd motherboard :confused::confused: the CPU definitely works as the heatsink warms up soon enough
