Old dell PC broken?

i had a dell PC and i broke it. it had 128mb of RAM. it was slow. so i figured out that i should upgrade the RAM. so i got a 512mb stick and it worked great. this was all when i was first getting in to computer stuff. i was way happy, but when i tried to move the computer off my desk i went to unplug the monitor cable, and i forgot it was screwed in! i ripped it out of the motherboard!! so i thought i had to buy a new mobo though at radio shack they have D-SUB ports. like with the pins coming off the back and the little holes in the front where the pins on the monitors cable fit into. i was wondering if i could solder on of those on and it would work.

i don't reaaly care though. its really old and im building a computer soon anyways. i was just wondering... thanks
