Hey guys,

A while back... i turned my old WD raptor drive into something like a thumb drive. Now i was trying to install a new win7 on it, but during the install process it says no harddrive detected. I'm sure it has something to do with the formatting of the raptor drive. How can I turn it back to it's original state?

Thanks!

try putting it in another computer that has windows on it and just format it from there and then try again. I dont know exactly what you did to your drive.

that's what i did. i used windows 7 to format... now win7 installer says "cannot use this disk for install" or something like that the "next" is greyed out :(

Is it set as bootable from your BIOS? I did a Win7 install from a USB drive recently and when I changed some BIOS settings to boot from the USB, it inadvertently made the HDD unusable, according to Windows setup.
