Are there any computer games out there kind of like Maniac Mansion for the NES or Shadowrun for the SNES. It seems like whenever I pick up a computer game and look at the box they are all first person perspective games and I don't really care for the camera angles of those. I mainly like RPG games, too.

There are many RPG games.
Probably just as many as 1st person shooters.

Are you looking for old games on the computer or new RPGs.

If youre looking for old games, you can get an emulator only if you own the original game but because theres no way of knowing if you have the original game, we do not allow discussion of them on the CoFo

If youre looking for new RPGs, i cant help you to much. Im not much of an RPGer. I know the two leading mmorpgs are WoW and GuildWars.

If you're more interested in newer games that have the feel of these types of adventure RPG's, I dunno.. The genre isn't nearly as popular as it used to be. If you search long enough through google I'm sure you'll turn something up though. Luck.
 
Fallout, trust me you WILL NOT be disappointed. The game play is a bit slow because its turn based, but its a genre in itself. No other game can you target someone's groin in close combat and then beat it with a crowbar. The humor is awesome, the weapons and ammo is great, the story is bad ass, they just don't make quality games like fallout anymore.

I suggest you play through Fallout 1, 2, and Fallout Tactics. You won't be disappointed.
