OMG! I need help quick!

Ok well i just got my new PSU because my old one didnt work. This is a brand new computer and I havent got it working yet. I put it in the new PSU plug it in and everything works great! Then a few hours later i try it again....It works at first but then the mobo says FF and i smell smoke. I immeaditley turn it off and when i try it again the heatsink fan doesn't spin. Whats wrong?!?!? I swear to god if i need a new heatsink after waiting on my new PSU im giving up. Please help me! :mad: :(:(:(
 
I think it was more than the Proc. Fan... Smell around(as silly as that sounds...) and see if you can pinpoint what blew. Tipically you can find it and see something that's blown or what not on the board. Smell around the power supply and see if something in there might of blown. Don't open it, just around the vents.

I suspect something sorted and you're mobo blew, but I can't say for sure...
 
This is getting werider and weirder. Now everything works except the CPU heatsink and the keyboard when i plug it in doesnt light up..
 
I still go with my hunch that you blew something on your MB and it's probably on it's last leg... Check for shorts and possibly blown caps.!
 
Did you check that the Power Supply was set to the correct voltage by altering the little switch at the backl of the power supply?
 
Ok, well it is the motherboard. Im taking it to the computer store tomorrow to see what cause it. There was a huge burn mark going across the metal strip on the left hand side. It was totally fried off. Thanks guys
