Onbard sound issue

Day before yesterday I picked up an ASUS P5K SE mobo. Anyways, I installed it, and reformatted, got everything going good. Windows automatically found the drivers for the sound device, and installed them. When they finished installing, my speakers started letting out a constant squeal sound. So I uninstalled the drivers, and same problem still. I reinstalled the drivers, and there is the same problem. I plugged in my friends headphones, and the squeal was coming out of them too, so I know that it is not my speakers. Any ideas? All help is appreciated.

Ok, well, I should say that when I reinstalled the sound driver, I did it from the disc that came with the mobo. I just went back and uninstalled, then reinstalled. But I noticed this: As soon as I uninstall it, Windows finds the driver and reinstalls it before I can install the driver from the disc. How can I fix that?

I updated the driver to the one on the disc, and it was the same driver. Still, I have the damn squeal sound. Any ideas?

Well, there are no other drivers for this sound device, and the XP drivers dont work, even if I run them in compatability mode. So I decided to get a Creative X-Fi Extreme Gamer sound card.

Yeah, the squeal stays no matter what. I just uninstalled the driver, disabled the onboard sound, and bought an X-Fi extreme gamer sound card. Now I have good sound. :D
