Onboard graphics blow for gaming, Hanamichi. A graphics card is just about mandatory. Onboard graphics is okay for web surfing, email, spreadsheets, etc, and occasionally, DVD watching, but that's about it.

Onboard graphics are intended to be my toilet paper when i run outta the TP on the roll
As the TheOtherOne said, you won't. Boards with the Nvidia 6100 or 6150 will be about the best you will do. Those are ok for light, simple gaming(and for some of those, you'll have to turn off the eye candy/decrease resolution) but very good for a budget general purpose non-gaming rig. These micro atx boards can be converted later on to decent gaming rigs with the addition of more memory and an add-on video card when $$$ allows. Because of their size, many folks use them for lan party rigs. If you have the money now, by all means go with a full size ATX and build a gamer from the ground up. Many, many, full sized boards make fine gaming rigs. Really, the only limit is your wallet. Raid arrays, sli, oc'ing mem, cpu's and video card(s).......it goes on and on.

I'd argue that DVD watching is perfectly fine. The girlfriend's 2.8Ghz P4 and integrated Intel graphics plays DVD's every bit as well as my FX5900 128MB does.
Does anybody know how the new Core 2 Duo integrated graphics perform? I think its called X3000 or something like that on the G965 chipsets.

i have a 6100 that can play hl2, cs:source and 1.6 at pretty good settings with 30+ fps(100+ on 1.6) and it can play bf2 at all low with 20+ so for light gaming onboard works until i upgrade

I thought Penguin's comment was pretty good, too. 
You don't realize how bad onboard graphics ARE until you play with a dedicated card. Then you don't realize how bad your mainstream card is until you play on a high end card with eye candy. Learned both of those. First, going from integrated + Celeron to Athlon XP + GF3 Ti500. Then when I had that computer, played on my uncle's latest-and-greatest computer which at the time I think was GeForce FX5900 or something i think...blew me away
