I have an ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe and it has the crossfire dual card options. should I be getting a 512 card or dual cards. im looking to stay in the 300$ range.

First off, I'm quite sure the Asus A8N is only compatable with SLI, not Crossfire. Second, the amount of memory has no real impact on your gamming performace. So, if a "big card" simply means on with lots of onboard RAM, many of those can be crap...

Now, if I were you, I wouldn't go with SLI/Crossfire. Just stick with a good card. The X1900 should be plenty for you. I'm thinking it can be found for under $300...

As far as I know, the only true advantage to SLI is the possibility for very high resolutions when playing games (someone correct me if I'm wrong). Myself, I agree with The Other One and I would grab the x1900.

quite so, SLI becomes really noticable at resolutions from 1280x1024 and above :)
