One Internet for Two

Hi everybody
I just registered to this forum and I am looking forward to participate in it.

I wanted to ask a question about the internet connection. Im nowhere near a computer pro so please be patient!

I use Broadband ADSL internet (connects with the telephone line or something). The thing is, I live on my own and sometimes I spend a month at my parents (which also live in the same country) but I don't have any internet there.

I'd like to avoid spending money on two separate internet accounts and just pay for one. Is it possible for me to connect to my internet connection I have at home from my parents house with the username/password?

Thanks in advance!

How do you expect to connect to your home from your parents? You would need an internet connection at your parents to connect to yours at home.

Get a tethering plan for your phone or purchase a mobile hotspot from a carrier. Either way, both of those will have monthly fees.

If you do not have a smartphone or available WiFi, the only option to get internet at your parents is to purchase it. DSL is tied to your phone number and can't be moved between homes, and since you said you live in the same country I'm betting you live far apart and the DSL provider would be different anyways.

This is probably the only advantage that dial-up has over DSL or cable. With dial-up, the ISP may very well have a POP (Point of Presence) where you live as well as where your parents live. A POP is essentially a local phone number you could dial to access the internet. Even if the ISP didn't have a local POP, you could still dial into the POP near your house while visiting your parents but then might encounter long distance charges.

Other than that, your option would be a cellular connection as has been previously mentioned.
